The highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, originally scheduled for July 20, has been postponed. The delay comes after Tyson, 57, experienced a health issue during a flight from Los Angeles to Miami that required medical attention. Initially, it seemed the incident wouldn`t impact the fight, but a follow-up consultation revealed that Tyson needs to limit his training due to an ulcer flare-up.
According to an official statement, “During a follow-up consultation on Thursday with medical professionals on his recent ulcer flare-up, the recommendation is for Mike Tyson to do minimal to light training over the next few weeks and then return to full training with no limitations.”
As a result, the fight has been postponed, with a new date expected to be announced on June 7. The desired location for the rescheduled bout remains AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Tyson expressed gratitude to his fans for their support and understanding, stating, “Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flare-up, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover. My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon.

Jake Paul supported the decision to postpone the event, emphasizing that he wants to face Tyson at his best. “I fully support postponing the event so Mike Tyson has no excuses come fight night,” Paul said.
“My fans know I don’t want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but let there be no mistake — when he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish. Paul vs. Tyson will be one for the ages, and I promise to bring my best for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup.”
The bout, sanctioned as a professional fight, is set for eight two-minute rounds with 14-ounce gloves. Despite Tyson’s last professional win being in 2003, he has an opportunity to notch a win against Paul, creating the largest age gap in professional boxing history. Tyson will turn 58 on June 30, while Paul is 27.
The fight, which was to be livestreamed on Netflix, remains a significant event. Tickets already purchased for the fight at the Dallas Cowboys’ home stadium will be honored on the new fight date.
